Bookkeeper- Atlanta, GA

Our client is looking to add a stellar Bookkeeper to handle an increase in accounting work.  Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant capacity or equivalent experience is required.   Location is Metro-Atlanta, and the pay range is $45,000-55,000 depending on experience. 

Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs accounts receivable accounting activities, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Invoices customers in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible for collecting delinquent business accounts
  • Acts as liaison for customer relationships

Performs accounts payable accounting activities, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Reviews invoices for accuracy, matching all PO’s and packing slips as required  
  • Processing invoices using 3 way matching
  • Determines payable status, amount, and date of payment
  • Expense reporting
  • Acts as liaison in vendor relationships

Performs general accounting functions, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Runs accounting reports daily, weekly, and monthly as required
  • Reconciles bank statements monthly, verifying all deposits, and resolving questions and problems
  • Enters, edits, maintains, and researches a variety of financial material and data for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company standards
  • Recommends methods and procedures to improve the functioning of the accounting area.

Performs payroll functions, including, but not limited to:

  • Audit payroll records and process semi-monthly paychecks
  • Prepare payroll journal entries
  • Coordinate payroll-reporting requirements with payroll processor and prepare returns not processed by the payroll processor

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of full charge bookkeeping
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Bachelor's in Accounting (preferred but not required)
  • Stable work history with career progression
  • Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
