Our client is a well established organization that provides niche products and services to consumers and they wish to hire a Controller that will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company working closely with the Finance department and the establishment of accounting systems, processes, procedures, policies etc.

Essential daily duties will include:-

  • Manage the or the operational efficiency of the A/R, A/P and GL functions of the accounting department
  • Regularly evaluate the processes and systems for improvement
  • Audits to verify that invoices are paid on time and effective collection processes including procurement and order management are facilitated by the team
  • Provide oversight to ensure all payroll related finance functions are being completed in the most efficient manner possible and are completed timely
  • Directly supervises accounting personnel as needed
  • Trains employees and helps resolve day to day challenges
  • Ensures that all direct reports have the requisite skills and resources to be successful;
  • Oversee the month-end close cycles for accuracy and timely completion
  • Prepare monthly financial statements such as Income Statements, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, management reports for all entities
  • Conducts variance analysis and reports significant variances to management
  • Works with finance to evaluate systems and processes for effectiveness and
    efficiency, and implements changes needed for continuous improvement
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax
    filings
  • Ensures adherence to deadlines in order to avoid penalties and late fees
  • Oversees the management of external vendor relationships that facilitate tax calculation, management and payment
  • Manage the corporate credit card system
  • Reviews the monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manages production of the annual budget and forecasts

Job Requirements:-

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of Accounting experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of Staff Accountants
  • Excellent understanding of technical accounting practices and GAAP
  • Previous experience dealing with inventory and cost of goods sold concepts required
  • A thorough understanding of and experience working in ERP accounting systems
  • Advanced Excel user
