Our client in the Marietta/Vinings area is seeking a General Ledger Accountant with moderate experience in cost and/or construction accounting. This individual will be responsible for the full maintenance of the general ledgers of a holding company and five subsidiary construction.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Calculate and record accruals, inter-company allocations, fixed asset depreciation and amortization
  • Prepare and file sales and gross receipts taxes throughout the year
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Balance and reconcile job cost and intercompany accounts
  • Assist with month-end close and preparations of financial statements
  • Assist management with year-end audits and tax preparation
  • Ad hoc reporting, analytics, and internal audits as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications include:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in construction accounting
  • Basic to intermediate accounting knowledge as demonstrated by a four-year degree in accounting/finance or relevant experience with GAAP accounting
  • Working knowledge of Timberline/Sage software preferred
  • Self-starting personality with good problem solving and analytical skills
  • AR/AP experience is preferred but not required
