Senior Financial Analyst (M&A Analyst) - Atlanta, GA

Job Purpose

Awesome company in the metro Atlanta area is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst.  This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance, and works closely with senior management, including the company’s Vice President of Finance, CFO and President.  As a Senior Financial Analyst within the Finance department, you will spend approximately 50% of your time supporting company’s mergers and acquisition (M&A) process and 50%  providing core financial planning and analysis services to internal customers.

This is a Direct Hire position paying up to $95,000 + bonus potential. 


Mergers and Acquisition Responsibilities

  • Build valuation models, aiding management’s understanding of key deal variables
  • Perform basic financial due diligence of potential acquisition companies
  • Perform market sizing type activities, aiding in revenue opportunities
  • Partner with senior management to identify revenue and expense synergies of potential acquisitions
  • Perform periodic ad-hoc analysis on post-close performance
  • Aid in identifying potential acquisition companies, leveraging public information

Financial Planning and Analysis Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly financial forecast process for key business unit or departments
  • Create and analyze key performance indicators for management
  • Communicate financial analysis to our financial team and management
  • Create and maintain management reporting packages
  • Support annual budget process and preparation of annual Board presentation
  • Prepare ad hoc projects as necessary
  • Maintain Hyperion financial system which supports budget and forecast


 Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or closely related discipline 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial analysis, including 1-2 years with modeling or direct M&A experience
  • Must possess strong analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized and self-motivated
  • Must work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding is preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills  (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of CapIQ and Oracle Hyperion products is preferred
  • Experience with financial markets, exchange and/or trading industry preferred
