Sr. Accountant: Financial Reporting
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant specialized in Financial Reporting for its Marietta, GA office. This position is responsible for ensuring that financial results are reported accurately and timely to satisfy both internal and external reporting needs. In addition, the role will be supporting technical accounting research functions, leading the implementation of new accounting changes, developing and improving accounting processes, and monitoring key controls in EPM application. This role has exposure to senior leadership, cross functional teams and significant development opportunities for future roles within the organization.
Ensure both external and internal financial statements are prepared in an accurate and timely manner
Evaluate new accounting literature, proposed and final, and lead the implementation of new pronouncements;
Develops a deep understanding of company reporting needs and drives improvements to meet the needs of the business.
Lead and drive special accounting projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
Assist in audit process through the preparation of schedules and communications with internal and external auditors
Key member of managing consolidation tools and process implementation (i.e. EPM implementation)
Support treasury functions as required
Work closely with tax department to perform legal entity related activities as needed (i.e. calculate dividends, reconcile investment with joint ventures)
Assist with ad-hoc projects, as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field is required
7+ years of financial reporting experience from public accounting and/or a blend of public accounting and a large corporate accounting setting
Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS principles and overall strong technical accounting skills required to financial reporting, month-end close process, and consolidations
Willing to "roll up his/her sleeves", operate at any level (from senior management to the lowest level of the organization), and do whatever it takes to insure the successful execution and growth of the business
Strong partnership and collaborative style with outstanding communication skills: written, verbal and presentation
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suites, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, ERP retrieve tools, etc.)
Experience with SAP, Oracle, BI, Cloud or other financial reporting software a plus.
Excellent time and project management abilities; self-motivated and highly experienced with multi-tasking
