Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience and a CPA. Candidates must have prior professional services experience. This role offers significant remote flexibility, with occasional office visits to oversee the company’s accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in financial strategy, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support cash flow management and financial planning
• Lead and coordinate annual audits and tax filings
• Develop, document, and enhance accounting policies and procedures
• Mentor and manage accounting staff, as applicable
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic and financial initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required/preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Professional services experience required
• Prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• ERP or accounting system experience
