firstPRO 360 is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing & Collections Specialist for an immediate opportunity in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be the engine behind revenue cycle management, ensuring that insurance claims are processed accurately and collections are handled efficiently. You will serve as a vital link between the healthcare facility’s administration and insurance providers, maintaining a sharp focus on reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) while upholding our “Commitment to Caring” philosophy.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, and transmit insurance claims to various payers.
- Research denied or unpaid claims, perform necessary corrections, and re-bill outstanding balances to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Take ownership of insurance collections and actively work to minimize the facility’s Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Partner closely with healthcare center administrators and office personnel to streamline and manage the facility’s accounts receivable.
- Maintain organized filing systems for all billing-related paperwork and ensure full compliance with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations
- Respond to operational changes productively and tackle additional projects as assigned to support the facility’s mission
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in insurance billing and collections
- Previous experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or a general healthcare environment is highly valuable and preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with healthcare billing software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations professionally
- A strong commitment to following state/federal laws and reporting any violations to ensure ethical operations
